Registrations for the 2024/25 Club season at King George Oval will open on or around Monday 5 August 2024.

For the 2024/25 season, registration fees will be $170 for 4 year old Tots (Tiger Cubs) and $190 for 6s to 17s - that’s only $10 a week for Club competition and access to club and specialist training. 

• Click here to see the updated Age Grid for the 2024/25 season. It shows which age group your child will be in based on their year of birth. The naming of the age groups has changed from last season.
• Many of our younger age groups (including 4 year old Tots/Tiger Cubs program, U6 to U10) fill up quickly and close before the start of the season. 
• A registration cap of 50 athletes per age group will apply.
• Our Tots/Tiger Cubs program is for 4 year olds only. 
• Saturday 21 September 2024: Registration Pick Up Day, 1-3pm at KGO
• Saturday 28 September 2024: Intro Day for New Athletes, 8.30-10.30am at KGO

CLUB SEASON - will start on Saturday 12 October 2024 for all athletes and run until Saturday 15 March 2025 (with a 4 week break over the summer holidays). 

CLUB TRAINING - on Tuesday afternoons from 5-6.30pm for all 6s to 17s athletes aims to develop skills in several events/disciplines at the beginner to intermediate level with our junior coaching team.

SPECIALIST TRAINING - on Thursday afternoons from 4.45-6pm for all 11s to 17s athletes offers athletes an opportunity to focus on one event/discipline with our specialist coaches including high jump, hurdles, long & triple jump, middle distance, race walking, sprints and throws (discus, shot put, javelin).

Maximum age group capacity and waiting lists 

The Balmain Athletics Committee is concerned about the health and safety of all athletes and the level of enjoyment for each child and parent/caregiver in large groups of athletes. As a result, age groups are closed when the number of registered athletes reaches 50.

After an age group is closed, we open a waiting list. These lists are maintained until mid-December or closed when the number of athletes on the waiting list reaches 20. Athletes may be invited to register at a reduced registration fee in January (mid season). This is at the discretion of the Balmain Athletics Committee. Please be aware that all members of the Committee are volunteers, as are all our age managers. We do not maintain waiting lists prior to the opening of the summer registration period.
