Championship Rules

THIS INFORMATION WILL BE UPDATED AS SOON AS THE COMMITTEE HAS REVIEWED THE INFORMATION FROM THE NSW ATHLETICS PARTNERSHIP REGARDING EVENT SPECIFICATIONS FOR THE 2024/25 SEASON.

The Club competition period to determine the end of season awards will run over the summer season at King George Oval other than on days which the Committee designates, at their discretion, as non-point scoring. All athletes must wear appropriate uniform, including registration numbers and age patches sewn or pinned on to the uniform.

Track Events:
All track events will be run under Club-level championship conditions.

Starting blocks may be used by the 11s-17s age groups in the 100m, 200m and 400m running and all hurdle events.

Heats should have an even number of athletes - e.g. if 18 are competing then they should be divided into 3 heats of 6 athletes; if 14  are competing then they should be divided into 2 heats of 5 and a 3rd heat with 4.

Field Events:
All events will be run under Club-level championship conditions.

Age Managers may decide that athletes participate in field events (discus, shot put, javelin, high jump, long jump and triple jump) in ascending or descending registration number order.

For athletes in 13s to 17s, the Club recommends that a throw or jump be taken one at a time and not three in a row.  Unless a foul is called, each throw will be marked and the longest measured. For jumps, each jump will be measured unless a foul is called.

At the completion of a field event the Age Managers are responsible for determining each athlete's place in that event.

If an athlete is late for their event they can only enter at their next turn, ie if a child misses the first 2 throws/jumps they will only have one opportunity to record a distance dependant upon the time of their arrival.   If an athlete is late for the high jump they will only be allowed to attempt the height the bar is set at when their turn is due.
